You don't want to finish the level *just* missing out of the extra life because you've shared the pickups. Playing co-op you're best having one person pick up the bonuses until they've got an extra life then swap. If you're playing solo you'll almost always gain at least one and possibly two.

  • You gain an extra life at 8000 points.
  • You need to get a 50 hit combo on the 1st section and a 50 hit combo in the middle section to have any chance of getting the S rank.
  • Some levels are worth restarting if you have a poor start - for example.
  • Use the arcade machines on every level that has them - there's 4 level 2, 4, 5, and 8.

  • Hold if you've been thrown - you'll land on your feet and so save vital seconds as well as getting out of the way of the crowds.
  • Use as many weapons as possible and throw a weapon at an enemy to extend your combo time if nobody is around.
  • Notably levels 8-12 have very easy S Rank scores so you can afford to lose a good amount of points here.
  • You can die a few times on some levels.
  • Just don't use your special moves (two different things). Some levels they're worth an extra 250 points in your bank, some they're worth 500 (don't forget to pick them up).
  • You can still use your star moves but try not to where possible.
  • This will help keep combos going when someone appears on either side of the screen.
  • If you do pick co-op, you want ideally one at the left side of the screen and one on the right.
  • The tips here are the same for both solo and co-op.

Bosses will take a little longer as double-teaming can sometimes take off half the boss's health in one go. These are all possible in solo but will take a bit longer as building combos are a little more difficult. You're better off going into co-op if you have the option. You essentially have to have a few seconds wait and a + score will come up just below your health bar to tell you it's counted. You need to 'Save' combos, this means if you're hit mid-combo you'll lose any extra multipliers you'd have earned.Having a 100 hit combo but only dealing 500 damage isn't as good as a 70 hit combo dealing 600 damage so having characters that have more power makes more sense. Most points in levels are earned by damage combos so you need to get these high. There are no bad characters to use, only bad methods. I personally used Axel SoR1 and others use Zan SoR3 (Both have a good hit range to keep enemies away). Pick a character your comfortable with.Star Moves (Extra points dependant on how many star moves you have saved).Health Bonus (How much health you have when you've completed a level).Time Bonus (The quicker you do a level the more points you get).

Base score (This is calculated by the amount of damage given out plus any multipliers from combos). The points are calculated on the following parameters. These have to be done on hard difficulty.

These require you to get a predetermined score on each level - you can try any level as often as you want. Once we've done these two achievements it's all sailing from here! These two are skilled-based and require good technique, learning enemy patterns and some determination. By now you'd have around 10-15 hours of decent playtime and start to get very familiar with the enemy strategies. The hardest two achievements in the game, and we're now going to tackle them. There are a lot of other minor differences, like text font color, missing visual impacts, and object placements. Here we are.

This resulted in missing CRT TV scanlines in the secret arcade machine bosses. It isn't possible to set any post-effect filter yet nor set the level of details of visuals among other things.

  • In Battle Mode, the music from Stage 1 is in the beta unmastered state made by Yuzo Koshiro.
  • It goes from punches to the cop's shield impacts and even sharp weapon attacks. There are even extra voice files, especially to enemy grunts when they get hit, a detail that most bosses retain in the final game.
  • Some voices are completely different, while others are completely missing (like most bosses).
  • The delay in which the combo value is blinking wasn't implemented yet, thus the only way to finish a combo was to wait without getting hit.
  • The combo system was slightly different in this build.
